I wanted to surprise my parents with a trip for their anniversary, and was trying to come up with a clever way to tell them about it. My daughter suggested that we give them hints throughout the anniversary party and see if they could guess what their gift was, and then if they guessed it was a trip, then they had to figure out where it was to.

I had some t shirts made up at this little funny t shirts shop that makes all the funny shirts for my son’s school. I had them put some really clever sayings on them and then made sure that they were in all colors and sizes to have lots of our family members in on the deal.

When the first funny t shirts were revealed at the party, my parents had no idea what was going on. They kept asking everyone why people had on funny shirts that only had partial sayings on them. I had to have everyone stand together with their funny t shirts and then they understood that they were being given a trip. It took them about another hour, to finally figure out where they were going by the other batch of funny shirts.
